THE STORY SO FAR...

Over a millennia has passed since the days of great heroes and princesses set to defend the kingdom of Hyrule from great forces of evil, and much has been lost. The triforce’s holders no longer reincarnate, knowledge of their great strides long since eroded from history. In current times, only three villages are known to remain: Rudania, Inariko, and Vhintl. The great plague and contaminator known as Blight has claimed much of the world’s surface and many lives. In a world with no heroes, lost history, and only minimal cultural memory, Hyruleans simply live their lives surviving day to day, some seeking to rebuild on the foundations of a ravaged world and perhaps even someday reclaim what lies beyond the blight.

What lies before you is a chronicle of the known history of Hyrule.. After the Blight.

◈ Beginning of timeline: 0 AB - Pools of Malice, with which contact would make Hyrulians sick, mutated into a contagion known as Blight. This force infected waterways, animals, monsters, and people, causing a gradual worldwide devastation. Hyrule is reduced to only three known villages watched over by guardian spirits, each thinking they are the only survivors.

◈ [Approx. 909 AB] - Just under a century ago, the Great Deku Tree of the Korok Forest died as the Blight inevitably breached the sacred grounds. Koroks and fairies living in the forest at this time were forced to flee or perish. Those who escaped either on their own or with the help of the Great Dragon Foras would carry with them blessed korok seeds that would ensure future generations. Before passing, the Great Deku Tree would grant Koroks the ability to take a Kokiri form.

◈ [20th of Keo Ruug, 999 AB (05/04/2020 - 05/31/2020)] - After gradual hard work and perseverance from villagers across Hyrule, roads connecting the three known villages are established for the first time in a thousand years, starting with Rudania and ending with Vhintl. The roads were still dangerous and travel parties were far more likely to make it to their destination unscathed versus an individual traveling alone, but many jumped at the opportunity to reconnect with their long-lost neighbors.

◈ [16th of Gee Ha’rah, 999 AB (05/26/2020)] - The Hot Springs just outside Rudania are made accessible.

◈ [17th of Gee Ha’rah, 999 AB (05/27/2020)] - The Inariko Library is officially opened.

◈ [2nd of Sha Warvo, 999 AB (07/03/2020)] - Remlits terrorize Inariko nightly until it is discovered a Blight Wizzrobe was likely responsible for their behaviour and was defeated, restoring some peace. A pair of Remilt remained among villagers when all others returned to the wild.

◈ [6th of Tutsuwa Nima, 999 AB (08/02/2020)] - Rudania finally finishes establishing a proper working mine, the Eldin Mine, thus allowing villagers to officially become Miners.

◈ [10th of Shae Mo’Sah, 999 AB (09/01/2020)] - Discovery and expedition of Spiderbite Ruins. Old ruins long covered by the dense undergrowth are discovered by a scout near Vhintl. An expedition takes place that leads to the discovery of the location being home to many aggressive Skulltula, thus earning its name.

◈ [12th of Shae Mo’Sah, 999 AB (09/03/2020)] - Wild horses are sighted for the first time in generations, prompting for many to be sought after and tamed. Mounts once again became a part of life in Hyrule.

◈ [19th of Makah Rah, 999 AB (11/01/2020)] - Seemingly possessed, blighted crops and scarecrows spring up around Hyrule and a handful of Hyruleans are plagued by sleepless nights filled with creeping shadows.. All of which comes to a climax during a Blood Moon that is eerily devoid of monsters for all but those who stepped through the doors summoned by both Key and Candle they’d collected. The unfortunate chosen few spend the Blood Moon barely surviving a mysterious crypt devoid of life and filled to the brim with poes, ghosts and blight alike.. The treasures they return with being the only evidence that any of it actually happened..

◈ [5th to the 8th of Noe Rajee, 1000 AB (01/31 to 02/03/2021)] - Every 500 years the malice that now covers Hyrule... blooms. It grows and becomes more aggressive for a short while.... During this period a Blight Bloom occurred in which blight overtook much of the roads again and even encroached on the very edges of the villages making the gathering of resources difficult. Monsters become more dangerous than ever and many travelers to other villages become displaced as the roads are closed again.

◈ [19th of Noe Rajee, 1000 AB (02/13/2022)] - To celebrate the end of winter, overcoming the Blight Bloom and keeping their villages safe, each village across Hyrule chose independently to host their own Winter Ball celebration. At this time, communications were still cut off and the fate of the other villages was yet to be discovered.

◈ [12th of Shae Katha, 1000 AB (03/31/2021)] - Mysterious and magical bell-like beacons are sent out across Hyrule by elder Keaton to find and lead any of their kin who may still be out there back to the few remaining ‘safe’ spaces post Blight Bloom. During this time, a keaton named Akki encounters a Goron and learns that the other races still survive and that a village still stands strong. With the villages found, keatons emerge and begin integrating with Hyrulian society to escape inevitable death.

◈ [3rd of Jitan Sa’Mi, 1000 AB (06/07/2021)] - The Resonance occurs. After an especially grueling blood moon in which Blight infection and giant Blighted monsters threatened to wipe out Hyrule’s remaining known civilizations, Beacons of golden light could be seen reaching into the heavens. First from Vhintl, then from Inariko and lastly Rudania as the Oracle of Courage awakened at last and resonated with the other Oracles and, as a result, all good living things, curing the afflicted and once again establishing a blight-free perimeter around each village.

◈ [8th of Sha Warvo, 1000 AB (07/09/2021)] - The ability to destroy Blight Eyes and their connected Blight pools is discovered. Through the following enormous Blight clearing expedition efforts of the three villages’ bravest, the roads open again and cross-village travel and communication once again takes place.

◈ [14th of Hawa Koth, 1000 AB (10/01/2021)] - From Rudania, an urgent request for ancient materials is sent out, and the three villages gathered for a month with the goal of donating these materials to the Oracle of Power, Aemu. Over time, it was revealed the parts collection was connected with stopping an invasion which was being planned by an outside force. A device was being built which would repel them.

◈ [18th of Maka Rah, 1000 AB (10/31/2021)] - The night of invasion arrived. Instead of a tangible army, shadows caused by the warping of small birds and other creatures changed by the atmosphere gathered in the night and attacked the three villages. For five nights they returned, bringing harm to village buildings and residents alike.

◈ [25th of Maka Rah, 1000 AB (11/07/2021)] - It was in the aftermath of these trials that the mysterious masked gravekeeper of Rudania who built the device told the truth of his race and his home - that he is really a twili from the Twilight Realm who had been tasked with using the ancient materials to build a portal that was intended to be used by a vengeful Twili Monarchy to invade the Light Realm, Hyrule. The device however had been intentionally altered to prevent this fate instead.

◈ [5th of Ya Naga, 1000 AB (11/13/2021)] - The first Twili refugee is brought into Hyrule, given asylum from the Twilight Realm by Oracle Aemu. Slowly, others would begin to follow.

◈ [7th of Shae Mo’Sah, 1001 AB (08/29/2022)] - After a week of quakes and eruption from Death Mountain that threw rocks as far as Vhintl, the first Mogma poked their heads above ground in Rudania, explaining the collapse of their volcanic underground city as a result of greed driven digging and ask if they may live along the other Hyrulean Races.

◈ [18th of Maka Rah, 1001 AB (10/31/2022)] - Invaders from the sky?? For the first time in known history, Hyrulians take up their bows and pitchforks to fight off THEM, and protect their livestock.

◈ [1st of Keo Ruug, 1002 AB (04/15/2023)] - The Acolytes, revealed. After Goddess Plumes mysteriously start appearing around known Hyrule, Oracle Nihme of Inariko looks into the matter leading a team of scholars & researchers. Acting on her theory, the call goes out for the plumes to be collected at a single point within Inariko's Library. Upon coming into contact with the plumes with spectacular results, Keeta and Yves are proclaimed Acolytes of Hylia. All mysterious plumes found during this time are observed to dissipate into dust following the event.

◈ [20th of Keo Ruug, 1002 AB (05/04/2023)] - Paths now well worn and often traveled between Vhintl, Inariko and Rudania have come to be named. The road reaching from Inariko to the northern village of Rudania is dubbed The Path of Scarlet leaves for the iconic red leafed trees of the north to which it leads. The road leading from Inariko to Vhintl is dubbed Leaf Dew Way, for how it ties the fishing village known for its waterways and the forest village hidden in the leaves.

◈ [23rd of Gee Ha’rah, 1002 AB (06/02/2023)] - Usually a peaceful Rudanian festival, this year's summer bloom festival results in disasters as an unpredicted Blood Moon takes to the sky. A sudden shower of blight rain takes festival goers by surprise, driving villagers to find cover. The villagers are saved thanks to Oracle Aemu's swift actions.

◈ [10th of Jitan Sa’mmi, 1002 AB (06/15/2023)] - An unexplained phenomenon…. A subtle wave of magical energy emanating from the Rudania graveyard could be felt throughout the villages on this day. Only the Twili of Hyrule may have truly sensed this disturbance as the portal that led many of them to safety ceased it's function with no certain cause. No more twili have been known to enter Hyrule after this event.

◈ [19th of Shae Mo’sah, 1002 AB (09/10/2023)] - Deep from within the grounds of Hyrule, rumbling commenced. Unusual monsters with the air of malice surfaced, bringing peril to all the villages and stumping even the wisest of elders while opportunistic merchants profit from the chaos. Unfortunately, the Oracle of Power, friend to the accused, learns of the abduction with delay and arrives in Inariko only after the prisoner is moved to Vhintl. In blind rage, the Oracle of Power levels the council chambers with explosive force, causing much destruction to the surrounding structures of the promenade. Many Inarikans are displaced, requesting aid in order to rebuild.

◈ [3rd of Noe Rajee, 1003 AB (01/29/2024)] - Residents of Inariko have put their best foot forward when the time came to rebuild their village after the terrifying ordeal of witnessing an oracles' fury, which shook the community to its core.
Putting their strength and resources together, the residents picked up the pieces of their home and managed to rebuild, salvaging all that they could and creating a stronger foundation in the process as they worked alongside your neighbors to rehouse them. Inariko is restored!

◈ [23rd of Shae Katha, 1003 AB (04/11/2024)] - After a series of unexpected yet fortuitous shenanigans within the Inarko Library, a long-sealed room was unlocked, revealing treasures of knowledge and artifacts that have sparked widespread speculation and anticipation of further discoveries. They look to be around 7 or 8 years old, dressed in tattered rags and clutching a small, worn object close to their chest. Their bright eyes seemed distant, unfocused, as if they’d been looking at something—or someone—that no one else could see. Shrouded in mystery, they are brought to a temple of Nayru, and dubbed "Hibiki". Their strange broken whispers prompt a wave of research into something called the "Triforce".
