Maps can be found throughout the land, often leading to special landmarks, hidden treasures, or more mysterious things besides! But, maps are old, out of date, often incomplete and with instructions that need careful translating. Having an unappraised map is like having a locked box, you know there is something good there, but you can’t get at it… yet.

Info

When a character obtains a map, it cannot be used until appraised. To have it appraised, they must either hire a scholar, or make use of one of the NPC scholars. To do so, they will need to fill out a map appraisal request form.

Appraisal

Once the appraisal has been completed, the member who owns the map will be dmed by roots.admin with the coordinates for their map!

Maps are not a finite resource, duplicates may exist, but what they lead to ARE finite, so if you and someone else have a map leading to the same place, either work together, or race, the choice is yours.

Scholars must use  3 🟩 stamina to appraise maps.

Only Scholars residing in Inariko are qualified to appraise maps.

Appraisal Rules

Players cannot use job vouchers to switch to scholar to appraise maps. The skills required are too hefty to be done in one day, thus making a job voucher not cover it. And no, this does NOT mean you can do it if you use more than one voucher either. Only properly recognized (aka it says it on your app) scholars can appraise maps.

The cost for using a Character scholar to be paid is whatever the scholar asks. You will have to barter with your fellow player like any other service. If there are no available scholars, you may hire an NPC scholar (@ the mods) for 500 tokens instead.

It takes three stamina for a scholar to translate a map.

A Scholar may only appraise one Map at a time.

When filling out the forms, both parties will check mark the response form once agreed, then wait for a mod to give the final blue check mark.
