The Map
Map Squares and Understanding Quadrants Status
When participating in expeditions, it's crucial to navigate the map effectively and understand how it's organized. The map is divided into a grid, each with specific designations to aid in systematic exploration.
Exploration Rules:
Complete Exploration Required: All four quadrants of a map square must be explored before moving on to the next map square. For instance, you cannot begin exploring square A2 until all quadrants of A1 are thoroughly explored and marked with at least Explored.
Quadrant Colors and Their Meanings:
Black (Inaccessible): These areas are blocked off and cannot be explored.
Red (Unexplored): Quadrants marked in red indicate areas that have not yet been visited.
Green (Secured): Green signifies that the quadrant has been fully explored and is safe for further activities.
Yellow (Explored): Yellow quadrants are those that have been visited but may not be fully secure.
Blighted Quadrants
So, what happens when a quadrant is revealed and it's covered in blight? Your party has to roll for blight exposure, of course! Exploring comes with many risks, as well as rewards. When a quadrant is revealed with 25% or more coverage of blight, the party that explored it will need to roll to see if they become blighted. If a party travels through a previously explored quadrant that has blight, they will also need to roll. This will occur every time the party travels through any quadrant. It can stack! Plan your expeditions carefully!
Updating and Revealing Map Quadrants:
After an expedition, the exploration party will receive updates from a mod, who will provide a "clear" version of the quadrants indicating their updated status. This is when the party would mark significant findings such as grottos, monster camps. or the newly paved road in secured quadrants.
A map square is considered "clouded" and its overall status undetermined until all its quadrants are revealed and updated post-expedition.
All maps that need to be marked with grottos, monster camps, roads, etc. must be completed by members of the exploration party within 24 hours. If not completed in this time frame, a mod will complete this.

Submitting Expedition Reports
We encourage all parties to submit expedition reports. If multiple quadrants are explored, multiple reports will need to be submitted, but this only counts as one expedition. For each unique expedition submitted, the party is rewarded with 200 tokens per party member.
Please look forward to this function returning when Exploring is relaunched under the Tinglebot! As with the map, this function will be handled under the Tinglebot dashboard.
