Job Perk: Gathering
Gathering is an active Job Perk Mechanic for the Roots of The Wild. The Gathering perk lets characters gather materials via a RNG rolling system. The items gathered through this can be kept, traded, or sold to shops.

🌿 How to Use /gather to Collect Items
The /gather command allows your character to collect materials based on their job and village. You can only gather once per day — unless you have a job voucher!
What the Command Does
When you use /gather, the bot will:
✅ Check your character's job and location
🎲 Roll for a gatherable item
📦 Add the item to your inventory database
📄 Log it to your Google Sheet (if connected)
🔒 Lock you out until next daily reset (unless you use a voucher)
✅ What You Need Before You Start
Make sure you have all of the following:
A created character with a valid job
A synced Google Sheet for inventory (
/inventory testand/inventory sync)You are in the correct Town Hall channel based on your village
⚠ Using the command in the wrong channel will cause it to fail.
🔄 Daily Cooldown
You can only use /gather once per day (resets at 8 AM EST)
/gather and /loot share the same cooldown
You can bypass this with a job voucher
🚫 Situations That Prevent Gathering
The bot will stop you from gathering if:
❌ You are KO’ed (0 hearts)
❌ You’re in jail
❌ You have Stage 4 Blight
❌ You’re debuffed (bot will show duration)
❌ You’ve already gathered/looted today
❌ You’re in the wrong channel
❌ Your job is invalid or missing the GATHERING perk
🛠 The bot will always tell you what’s wrong so you can fix it.
💬 How to Use the Command
In Discord, type /gather
Select your character name from the dropdown
Press Enter — that’s it!
The bot handles everything else.
🌧 Blight Rain Warning
If it’s raining Blight in your village:
🌕 75% chance your character gets infected
🌑 If already blighted: no change
☂ You may avoid infection (but barely)
The bot will automatically apply and log the result.
📦 What Happens Next
Depending on the result, two things can happen:
✨ You Gather a Regular Item
Pulled randomly from your region's item pool
The item appears in:
Your internal inventory
Your Google Sheet (if synced)
💥 You Trigger a Monster Encounter (Blood Moon only)
25% chance during a Blood Moon
You roll for buffs, damage, or KO
If you win: you may earn extra loot
Loot is saved to both inventory systems
🎟 Job Vouchers
Lets you gather a second time in the same day
Voucher is automatically used when applicable
Invalid/missing vouchers will be flagged by the bot

🧯 Common Problems & Fixes
❌ Problem: Character not found
💡 Solution: Make sure the name is spelled correctly and that you own the character.
❌ Problem: Wrong channel
💡 Solution: Double-check which village your character belongs to and use the correct Town Hall channel.
❌ Problem: Already gathered today
💡 Solution: Wait until the daily reset at 8 AM EST — or use a job voucher to gather again.
❌ Problem: KO’d, jailed, blighted, or debuffed
💡 Solution: Heal up, serve your time, or wait for the status effect to wear off.
❌ Problem: No Google Sheet update
💡 Solution: Run /inventory test to make sure your sheet is linked and shared properly.
