Relics
Relics are mysterious, powerful artifacts from a forgotten age — found only by the brave, curious, and lucky. Hidden across Hyrule in ruins, chests, and uncharted terrain, relics carry cultural weight, secret histories, and occasionally, unique abilities. Each relic is a piece of lost lore waiting to be unearthed.
How Are Relics Found?
Characters may discover relics while:
Searching unexplored map quadrants
Exploring ruins
Completing special quests or events
Opening ancient chests
Once a relic is found, its identity remains unknown until appraised by someone with the proper skills.

Relic Commands in the Tinglebot
/relic list: Lists all relics discovered by a character.
/relic info: Shows details of an appraised relic.
/relic appraisal-request: Starts an appraisal for a relic you found.
/relic appraisal-accept: Accepts a pending appraisal request (Artist/Researcher in Inariko only).
Relics will all have an associated ID (example: R473582). These will appear when the relic is discovered, and in the /relic list command! These IDs are used for appraisal requests, viewing relic information, and submitting relic art to the archives.
🛠️ Appraisal Process
To uncover what a relic is, it must first be appraised by an Artist or Researcher who resides in Inariko. This process identifies the relic and provides a written description used to later create an image for the Archives.
Appraisal Cost: 3 🟩 Stamina from the appraiser
Only Artists and Researchers from Inariko can appraise relics.
In order to request the appraisal, you must first use /relic appraisal request. Once you provide the character (who found it), the relic ID, and the appraiser (Artist or Researcher you are using), the bot will then create a pending request and generate a request ID.
The next step, is that the appraiser uses /relic appraisal-accept. Once they provide the appraiser (their character), the corresponding request ID, and description (appraisal text). 3 Stamina will be deducted from the Artist or Researcher, and the relic will be appraised!
NPC Appraisal Option
If no PC Artist or Researcher is available, players may request an NPC appraisal by paying 500 tokens. Be sure to indicate this on the Relic Appraisal Request form. The 'appraiser' will simply be input as NPC. Once that is done, 500 tokens will be deducted and the relic will be appraised!
🏅 Bonus Reward
For any duplicate relics, the finder may receive 500 tokens or a random healing or stamina item!
🎨 Artwork Requirement
Once appraised, the character who discovered the relic must submit original artwork based on the appraisal description. This artwork becomes part of the Library Archives.
Images must be 500x500 pixels or larger, 1:1 aspect ratio, PNG format, with a transparent background.
Time Limit:
Art must be submitted within 2 months of the appraisal. If art is not provided in time, the relic will be lost to history and removed from records.
You may ask another Artist or Researcher to assist with creating the image. If an NPC appraises the relic, art submission by the discoverer is mandatory.
📚 The Library Archives and Submitting Relics
The Library Archives house all discovered relics. Once appraised and illustrated, each relic is added to this growing collection — a museum of Roots’ collective discoveries. The Archives were uncovered during The Mystery Door: Quest for Ancient Secrets and continue to expand with every new find.
➡️ When on the Tinglebot Dashboard, under the Library tab you will find the Archives.
Submission Steps:
1. Enter the Relic ID
2. Click Load to autofill relic data
3. Upload the relic image
4. Add optional description or lore
5. Click the Library Map to place the relic location
6. Submit for mod approval
When loading the relic ID, the system automatically fills:
• Title
• Discoverer
• Appraiser
• Region
• Square
• Quadrant
The Relic ID is required for submission. If needed, retrieve it using /relic list.
🕒 Deadlines & Decay
Appraisal Deadline: 7 days from discovery
If not appraised within this time, the relic deteriorates and is permanently removed from your inventory.
Relic Art Deadline: 2 months from appraisal
If artwork is not submitted within this window, the relic is lost to time — and all associated lore vanishes.
♻️ Duplicates
Some relics may appear more than once in the world. If your character finds a duplicate:
It must still be turned in via the Relic Turn-In Form
No art is required for duplicates
A small token reward may still be granted
The relic will be logged for lore continuity
⚠️ Relic Locks & Character Activity
In Roots of the Wild, relics are powerful, story-rich items — and finding one is a big deal. When a character discovers a relic, that item becomes locked to them until it's properly appraised and turned in. This ensures that each relic’s lore, story impact, and discovery process is meaningful and traceable.
🧭 What Is a "Locked" Relic?
A locked relic is a relic that:
Has been discovered, but
Has not yet been fully appraised and submitted (i.e., not drawn, not turned in)
While it remains locked, the relic is still in the character’s inventory and is tied directly to them.
🚫 What a Character Cannot Do While Holding a Locked Relic
If a character has a relic in their inventory that hasn't been appraised and turned in, they are limited in the following ways:
🚫 Cannot go on further explorations
🚫 Cannot trigger another relic event
🚫 Cannot pass the relic to another character or player
The character is effectively on relic lockdown until the process is completed.
✅ How to Remove the Lock
To unlock a character and resume normal activity:
Appraise the relic (via PC Artist/Researcher or 500-token NPC appraisal)
Submit relic art within 2 months
Turn the relic in to the Library
Once turned in:
✅ The relic is no longer associated with the character
✅ It becomes part of the Library Archives
✅ The character is free to explore again
⚠️ If the Character Becomes Inactive Before Submitting:
The relic is lost permanently
It cannot be transferred to another character
Its lore and unique traits are removed from the world
Any rewards tied to it are forfeited
This only applies to relics still in progress — once a relic is turned in, it is no longer tied to any character, and Relic Lock no longer applies.
